India enjoys a large variety of climates ranging from extremely hot desert regions to severely cold Himalayan region. October to November are usually cloudless in northwest of India. But Tamil Nadu receives most of its annual rainfall because of northeast monsoon season. December and January are coldest months, with an average temperature around 10–15 °C in the northwest and around 20–25 °C in southern India. April is the hottest month in western and southern regions and May is hottest in North with an average temperature around 32–40 °C. Monsoon slowly seeps across the country by last week of May or early June. Monsoon rains begin to recede from North India by end of September. South India typically receives more rainfall.

From December till begining of Feburary is the coldest months for Ranthambore National Park, with the temperature dipping down to 2 Degree Celsius.
