India experiences a wide range of climates, from the extreme heat of desert areas to the severe cold of the Himalayan regions. Here’s a quick breakdown of seasonal weather patterns across the country:
October to November: Mostly cloudless skies in northwest India, while Tamil Nadu receives the bulk of its annual rainfall due to the northeast monsoon.
December to January: The coldest months. Average temperatures in the northwest are around 10–15°C, while southern India enjoys milder temperatures around 20–25°C.
April to May: April marks the hottest month in western and southern India, while May is the hottest in the north, with average temperatures ranging from 32–40°C.
Monsoon Season: The monsoon generally begins in the last week of May or early June, gradually spreading across the country. By late September, monsoon rains recede from northern India, while southern India receives more prolonged rainfall.
Ranthambore National Park Climate
Cold Season (December to early February): Ranthambore’s coldest months, with temperatures dropping to around 2°C. As safaris are conducted in open jeeps, we recommend layering warm clothing to stay comfortable in the cold. This layering allows you to easily adjust to both your activity level and changing weather conditions.
